BrAVO Spring Meeting 2011
The BrAVO Spring Meeting is the premier meeting for veterinary ophthalmologists in the UK and is supported by international delegates.
We attract a wide range of abstract submissions from research institutes through to first opinion private practitioners.
We do all we can to encourage first time presenters and offer support and back up for you from the first stages of writing an abstract through to the presentation itself.
Why Present An Abstract?
If your abstract is accepted for presentation, you will receive a cheque for the value of free day registration
Examples of suitable topics:
- Novel treatments
- New or increased frequencies of disease
- Interesting outcomes
- Any research
Examples of previous abstracts include:
- Ligneous Conjunctivitis in a Doberman. Smith, K. M.
- Normal equine tear pH as measured with pH paper. Lowe, R.C. & Crispin, S.M.
- Prevalence of cataract in the dog and cat: preliminary results in a cross-sectional study. William, D.L.
Abstract Guidelines
- A The first line should give the Title of the Abstract
- The authors' names should appear in the next line - initials followed by the last name
- Please provide the name of your practice / institution
- Use single line spacing
- Use 11 point Times New Roman font for all text
- Do not indent paragraphs but leave a line between each paragraph
- Photographs or diagrams are encouraged, but please do NOT place photographs or diagrams within the main body of the text. Instead, send each photograph or diagram as a separate JPEG or BMP Images with a title such as “Figure 1 the eye before surgery” The image resolution needs to be 150dpi with a minimum image width of 10cm/4inches.
- A guideline of 300-500 words is suggested, although a maximum of 2500 words is acceptable
Abstract Submission Deadlines
- Abstracts must be received by 4th March 2011
- Abstracts will be reviewed and the author(s) notified with time allowed for alterations if required.
- Twelve minutes will be allotted for each presentation, with a further three minutes for discussion. All oral presentations must be made in English. Presentations must be in PowerPoint.
