Oddfellows Hall
Oddfellows Hall was built as ‘Bridge House’ in 1676 by a wealthy widow called Dame Mary Calveley who had outlived her husband, Sir Hugh Calveley by 57 years! She paid a fine of £20 to the City Assembly to have the rows removed from the front of the Mansion. Dame Mary was very much the city’s socialite and she built her house primarily to entertain the movers and shakers of the time.
Here at Oddfellows Chester we like to do things a bit differently. If you’re looking for a venue that’s unusual, original and very practical then Oddfellows is it. We have a number of quirky, design led spaces which will inspire, motivate, enthuse and delight your delegates and we are able to offer each of our clients a be-spoke, tailor made Event Management service 365 days of the year.
Firstly, we have the Tea Rooms. An elegant, panelled room which can accommodate up to 18 guests for an informal, relaxed event. Our selection of Special Event menus are available but this room was made for Afternoon Tea...
We also have a beautiful, rich Private Dine room – perfect for business breakfasts, lunches and dinners. This room seats up to 12 guests and has a record player with around 200 pieces of vinyl so you can play when your work is done.
Our upstairs Restaurant can seat up to 50 theatre style and for conference / cabaret. It is also a very sophisticated restaurant space which can seat up to 50 guests for a sit-down dinner and 70 for an informal buffet or pezzotino menu (pezzotino means ‘little things’ and is a 3 course meal served on side plates with a fork that you can enjoy standing up, sitting down or even perched on the side of a sofa). This room splits into 2 separate spaces for smaller events (18 guests and 24 guests).
Oddfellows has lots of very special little breakout areas and a team of lovely staff who are dedicated to ensuring that your event goes swimmingly. We have 4 hotel bedrooms and full audio / visual facilities.
